This article discusses a by-design behavior where the Power Management tab is no longer available in the Wireless Network advanced properties in an Always-On/Always-Connected (AOAC) platform.
In Windows 7, you used to be able to see a Power tab inside the USB hub's device manager properties that showed the current draw for each device connected to the hub. That seems to have gone missing in Windows 10. Apparently, in the Device Manager, under the HID-compliant mouse or keyboard device properties, should be a 'Power Management' tab that allows you to check or uncheck an option: 'Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby'. Unfortunately, this tab doesnt show up for my mouse or keyboard (next to the General, Driver, and Details tabs). In update 1709 there was a power management tab when you right clicked a bluetooth device from the device manager and clicked properties. It was right next to the Events tab. Consider the following scenario:
- You have a system that is an AOAC platform.
- The system is running Windows 8.
- You install the July update rollup 2855336.
- After the update is installed, you open up Device Manager.
- You open the Wireless Network adapter properties.
In this scenario, you notice that the Power Management tab is no longer available within the advanced driver properties.

This behavior is by design. For Windows 8, update rollup 2855336 implements this change for Wireless adapter miniports on AOAC platforms.
With AOAC platforms, Windows needs to systematically manage the adapter's power state to achieve Connected Standby. Thus, the Power Management tab is not provided for the user to uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option. On non-AOAC platforms, the Power Management tab is retained.
This update rollup also addresses an issue on both platforms, in which the system might not be able to wake up after the system goes to sleep if the wireless adapter supports OID_RECEIVE_FILTER_SET_FILTER and the checkbox Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is unchecked. This filter is used when an adapter supports NDIS packet coalescing, SR-IOV, or VMQ.

2. Uninstall Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI–Compliant Control Method Battery
As most of the issues in Windows 10 are caused by faulty or corrupt drivers, this could be the reason behind this issue as well. In this method, we will uninstall the Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI–Compliant Control Method Battery drivers. So that, their drivers can rollback to default ones. Here's how to perform this method.
Step 1. Right-click on the Start menu button and select Device Manager.
Step 2. Expand Batteries and right-click on Microsoft AC Adapter. Select Uninstall device. Click on Uninstall when asked for confirmation.
Step 3. Click on Scan for hardware changes and wait for Windows to reinstall Microsoft AC Adapter drivers.
Step 4. Now, right-click on Microsoft ACPI–Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall device. Click on Uninstall when asked for confirmation.
Step 5. Again, click on Scan for hardware changes and wait for Windows to install Microsoft ACPI–Compliant Control Method Battery drivers.
Step 6. Restart your computer.
This should fix the issue. Check on the taskbar and make sure you see the battery icon. If the battery icon is still missing, perform the next method.
3. Run System File Checker Command
If none of the above-mentioned methods worked, then you need to run System File Checker. It is a troubleshooting tool which is designed to find and fix system related problems. It might fix your problem too. Here's how to perform this method.
Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Command Prompt. Right-click on Command Prompt from results and select Run as administrator.
Step 2. In the Command Prompt window, enter the following command and press Enter.

Step 3. Wait for the scan to finish. It could take up to 15 minutes.
Step 4. Jai ho hindi song. When the scanning process is done, restart your computer.

4. Run Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM)
DISM or Deployment Image Servicing and Management is another troubleshooting tool, pretty similar to SFC scan. The difference is, DISM is a stronger tool than SFC. We will run DISM which will scan and fix the issue. Here's how to perform this method.
Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Command Prompt. Right-click on Command Prompt from results and select Run as administrator.
Step 2. Type the following commands, one by one, in the Command Prompt window and press Enter after entering each command.
Step 3. The scan and fix process will take quite some time. Let it finish.
Step 4. When the process is done, restart your computer.

5. Run Windows Troubleshoot
